The Company Today

The company - registered since 1995 as a Limited Company + Co. KG - is still a family-owned, medium sized, independent company. At present, it employs 250 staff-engineers, technicians, commercial clerks, skilled workers and trained employees.

The company is active in three product lines:

The instrumentation products are mainly used for pressure and differential pressure measurement in all ranges of engineering.

Important fields of applications are:

Chemical, petrochemical, offshore industry
Nuclear power plants

Sea-water desalination plants
Flue gas desulphurisation plants
Natural gas production and gas transmission industries

The valves and manifolds need to operate for many years, often under extreme conditions, e. g. they must resist pressures of up to 2000 bar, temperatures up to 600 °C, and sometimes very aggressive and highly toxic media, with permissible leak rates of almost zero (10^-7 mbar x l/sec).

Therefore, besides standard materials - such as steel, stainless steel and brass - exotic alloys such as Monel, Hastelloy, Titanium, and Duplex are also used. In addition to the production of standard valves, various valves are developed and produced to meet the customer’s own specifications. This often requires intensive cooperation between the clients' processing and measurement technology engineers and the employees of our sales and design department.

Important customers and users of these instrument valve products are the chemical, petrochemical, offshore industry, engineering companies which are projecting and building the plants, as well as the manufacturers of pressure and differential pressure instruments. With regard to the acquisition of valves, the users tend to buy complete hook ups with orifice, flange, needle valves, ball valves and tubing. This results in more complex and more integral solutions.

Development, Production and Marketing
of Valves for Large Bore Diesel Engines

Our customers include manufacturers of large bore diesel engines up to 65,000 KW for ship propulsion and power generation (stationary engines) and subordinate industries such as shipping companies, shipyards and spare parts dealers.

We supply this industry with indicator valves, (by means of which a pressure diagram of each cylinder is written at regular intervals), safety valves to avoid engine failures caused by excess pressure, special valves for the cleaning of vanes of exhaust gas turbochargers and fuel valves.

In this field, Schneider is the world market leader and provides most of the large diesel engine manufacturers worldwide with its valves.

Production and Distribution
of Parts and Components

The parts and components are manufactured according to the customers' designs and standards. The single parts are manufactured from noncutting sheet metal with and without tools or of metal cutting of barstock or cast material. The components are assembled, screwed together, revited and welded. The customers are mainly car manufacturers and their suppliers.

One of our traditional lines is the processing and installation of cylinder heads for engine blocks, crankcases and other parts for the racing and development departments of the automotive industry.

High-Tech Production

Our raw materials for the manufacture of the products are forgings, castings, sheet and square, round and profile barstock steel, stainless steel and brass, but also exotic materials. We obtain our raw materials mainly from Europe but also from Asia.

The production comprises technologies such as sheet metal forming, metal cutting such as turning, milling, drilling, and deburring. Resistance welding and inert-gas-shielded are welding, assembly of components and products. Heat treatment and surface treatment (galvanization, varnishing, coating) are carried out in cooperation with partner companies.

We are forced to consistently rationalize all areas due to the pressure of prices on the international markets. The simplest tasks are increasingly being taken over by robots and CNC controlled machines. There is an increasing demand for qualified workers.

Toolshop

Part of the tools we need for the transformation of sheet metal are produced in our own toolshop. We guarantee for functionality and reliability of our products by a process of continuous inspection during production to ensure SCHNEIDER product integrity - accredited to ISO 9001.

Quality work on new products starts with a planning discussion with all parties involved, manufacturing and purchasing departments included, continuous design talks at regular intervals and field tests. The industrial workers permanently supervise the serial production starting with the audits of our suppliers, individual control of the goods on delivery, self-tests during assembly, and spot checks by Quality Controllers. This concludes, in many cases, with a 100% examination of the end product.

For our company, quality does not only mean functionality of the products. When we say quality we think of all our services to the customer, including advice given on the telephone by our sales staff, compliance to agreements made, and prompt responses to any requests.
