Business Development Engineer- Africa
(Location Dubai, UAE - open to travel to African countries)


In charge Africa market, external (partly) and internal sales, basic/operational/logistical administration. Responsible for business development, enquiries, quotations, follow-up with customers in the region.


  • What you can expect:

    • Resposibility for business development, enquiries, quotations, follow-ups with customers in the region.

    • Listing AS-Schneider at all major EPCs/End Users, expand customer base, identifying new customer opportunities to developing sales as well as promoting Company Products (within the Company Guidelines) to ensuring the sales goals and profitability as well as the total customer satisfaction

    • Establishing sales objectives by creating a sales plan and meeting regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

    • Building working relationships with the relevant external sales personnel, internal spares, service and technical departments, agents and associate companies.

    • Working with customers to solve application problems and propose suitable technical solutions, together with the Product Management where required.

    • Liaise/consult the with concerned person based in Dubai, India and Germany for project, engineering and production planning department to do the needful to minimize deviations and meet the project requirements.

    • Regular reporting to local Sales Director MEA+CSA and HQ in Germany.

    • Additional hours may be required to be worked from time to time to ensure customer’s expectations and organizational challenges are met.

    • Enquiry and order handling (partly) – Technical and commercial; inter departmental/supplier liaison, expediting, shipping, order entry and invoicing department support where necessary.



    What characterizes you:

    • Graduate engineer, preferably mechanical engineering or comparable

    • Several years of relevant professional experience, ideally in an industrial valve market in Africa; particularly in oil and gas. .

    • Familiarity with basic design of industrial valves (DBB valves, ball valves, needle valves and manifolds).

    • Knowledge and experience in handling a common ERP system is desirable.

    • Familiarity with current standards and regulations from the oil & gas sector.

    • Fluent in French and Arabic.

    • Good MS Office skills and experience in working with MS Teams is desirable.

    • Customer-oriented and entrepreneurial thinking and acting.

    • High level of self-motivation, good communication skills and enjoyment of working in an intercultural team.

    • Positive appeal, polite, approachable as well as continuous improvement orientated.
